“Off the beaten path”
September 2017: “We had our concerns going to this hotel, but they were unfounded. You take water shuttle 5.2 to the Ospedale dock, turn left, walk down the water front to a gate, turn right down a narrow plain alley. You start wondering where the hell you are then you see a yellow sign hanging out with the hotel name. Press a buzzer on the door and tell them you name. You are given a room number and buzzed in. Go up a flight of stairs, open a door into the breakfast food and look for your room number. There were signs welcoming us and keys were in the room. The room itself was modest and comfortable, quiet and dark. The offered breakfast was simple consisting of juice and tea or coffee, rolls with jam and a Twinkie like pastry. The hotel is in a quiet less traveled section of Venice, but an easy walk to the sites. Staff was friendly and helpful. If you are going to ride the water buses more than twice, get a single or multi-day pass. The ticket office is on the Grand Canal in front of the train station. There is a single multi-lingual self serve machine to the left of the ticket window which no one seems to use since it looks like an ATM. Bus 5.2 dock at the time of this review is Dock D which is far to the right of the ticket office towards the bus bridge.” Stephen S – Holly Springs, Carolina del Nord
