“Wouldn’t stay anywhere else”

The 10th of July 2013: “First of all, let’s clear up something. Alloggi Barbaria is a Bed and Breakfast but is called a Hotel because it has to be by Italian law because it has 6 rooms. Holiday accommodation in Italy can only be called Bed and Breakfast if it has 4 or less rooms. They are not pretending to be something they are not. It is a 2 star establishment and excellent value for money. This is the 2nd time I have stayed here and would not stay anywhere else. The welcome is great, the staff friendly and helpful and it’s in a great location. O.K., it isn’t perfect if you are picky and looking for 5 star quality but I have stayed in a 5 star hotel, part of a big international chain, that was far inferior to the comfort and quality you will find here. There is a vaporetto stop, Ospedale, about 150 yards away on Fondemente Nove that will transport you around Venice, the islands and Lido, where there is a free beach. As you walk to the stop you can visit the Coop (no I haven’t forgotten the hyphen!) supermarket and buy your supplies for lunch. From here there are beautiful views of the northern part of the Lagoon, including Murano and Burano. If you want something cheap (for Venice), cheerful, comfortable and in a great location you would be hard put to find somewhere better.” Tim Mahoney, Bristol, England.

It was easier than initially thought to find and the hosts were very warm and inviting to us. They had helpful advice on places to eat nearby and...

Just a short walk towards the coop market and a right down the lane where you can see the sign easy five minutes perfect with luggage. When we arrived we rang the door be...
"Great away-from-the-bustle stay": October 2017: “Just got home after spending 8 nights at the Alloggi Barbaria. First, I must commend Fausto for being a great host. Prior to arrival, he always responded to emails promptly and with good answers to any questions. In person, he is even better. He took the time to help better my ...
