“Modest Accommodations = Great Trip”

The 5th of October 2012: “Alloggi Barbaria is a modest hotel that is quietly tucked away in a residential neighborhood in Venice. It was the perfect place for a family travelling on a budget – clean, convenient, quiet, and welcoming. As a family travelling with 3 teenage boys aged 18, 17 and 15, we booked a double room and also a triple. The rooms were spacious and clean, we had plenty of hot water, air conditioning, wall safes and free WiFi. Perfect. We arrived by train and took the 5.2 waterbus to the Ospedale stop. A short 5 minute walk down a narrow corridor brings you to the hotel. There was construction taking place so the corridor was actually covered by scaffolding and you walked beneath it, but we were never bothered by any noise from the site. Don’t be put off by the reviews of breakfast…the coffee and roll were perfectly fine, and the teens appreciated the Nutella that was provided. We were served breakfast on the patio (okay..the view was subtle…a wall!) by a kind gentleman who went out of his way to make sure we had plenty of coffee, etc. The reasonable cost of the hotel allows you to seek out culinary experiences elsewhere so for us, it made sense to stay here and spend our Euro’s on tourist activities. We enjoyed wandering through the city, and you can find your way back rather easily following signs for “Ospedale” which I believe is Italian for “hospital”. I would gladly stay at Alloggi Barbaria again and recommend it to like minded tourists! It is a clean, quite, and friendly little place run by nice people.”

It was easier than initially thought to find and the hosts were very warm and inviting to us. They had helpful advice on places to eat nearby and...

Just a short walk towards the coop market and a right down the lane where you can see the sign easy five minutes perfect with luggage. When we arrived we rang the door be...
"Great away-from-the-bustle stay": October 2017: “Just got home after spending 8 nights at the Alloggi Barbaria. First, I must commend Fausto for being a great host. Prior to arrival, he always responded to emails promptly and with good answers to any questions. In person, he is even better. He took the time to help better my ...
